Disability & community navigation · Calgary and across Alberta

You don’t have to navigate complex systems alone.

How navigation works

One Door. One Navigator. One Coordinated Pathway.

A person does not need to know which program, professional or government department they need before contacting BFF. They can start by telling us what is happening.

  1. Connect

Tell us what you need help with.

  2. Understand

We identify the barriers, concerns and priorities.

  3. Map

We identify possible benefits, services and community pathways.

  4. Organize

We help organize existing paperwork, information, questions and next steps.

  5. Navigate

We support you through the appropriate process.

  6. Connect & Refer

We connect you with community, health, disability, education or other appropriate services.

  7. Follow Through

We help identify what happened after the referral and what still needs to be addressed.

  8. Measure

We look at whether you understand your next steps and whether barriers have been reduced.

“Our job is not to take away a person’s voice. Our job is to help make sure their voice can be heard.”

— Manjiah Ockey, BSc, LPN, Founder & Executive Director

Manjiah Ockey founded Biofeedback Foundation on a simple belief: people should not have to reach a crisis before they can understand what help is available to them.
